Vineyards are something I have been largely unfamiliar with until this year. People don’t really grow grapes on the east coast–where I live it’s all apples and tobacco, and strawberries. But here the economy is built on grapes and wine and tourists. I figure that I should attempt to shoot the vineyards at some point, considering how much of the culture they built here in northern California. Right all the vines are cut back, but a lot of the vineyards are filled with brilliant yellow flowers. Any back road you take around here leads you to, from or through some sort of vineyard. So, here’s one photo from the afternoon I spent driving, drinking iced coffee and shooting the vineyards.
