Welcome back to my hometown. This was shot across the street 7 months after last week’s photo of the week was taken. Each summer the city puts all these hanging pots along the streets, and somehow they always stay alive all summer. My friend Evan and I had gone to take some photos together, a day before I left for California. It was blistering hot. I think my shirt was glued to my back with sweat at this point in time. Evan was using an old polaroid he rebuilt, and I think he has a picture of me taking this photo.

Reasons I like this Photo:

  1. I love brick.
  2. There are so many lines to look at, the brick, the pole, the window, the yellow lines on the street, the sidewalk cracks. It’s interesting for the eyes to look at.
  3. The lines and colors make things stand out against each other. It’s all very bold and very simple at the same time.
